Our 'Christmas Dinner Seed Collection' is a collection of 5 vegetable seed varieties that you may find on a traditional Christmas Dinner plate. This collection makes a great gift as an introduction to home vegetable growing, with the added challenge of having everything grown in time for next years' Christmas dinner!

Brussels Sprouts, Red Cabbage, Carrots, Swede and Parsnip are all included in this collection and full sowing and care instructions are featured on each seed packet within the collection box.

The varieties are detailed below and the links will take you to the individual seed packet detail for each variety.

Brussels Sprout - Evesham - An old English variety which produces generous crops early in the season and over a long period. The strong, medium sized plant produces stems of fat, firm and delicious sprouts from September right through to December.

Cabbage - Red Drumhead - A popular heritage variety which is easy to grow producing good looking, tasty and sweet compact deep red cabbage heads. The colourful vitamin rich heads can be served either cooked or raw in salads. Red Drumhead is renowned for holding both its flavour and colour when cooked or pickled.

Carrot - Autumn King 2 is a heavy cropping variety which produces deep orange, thick roots of 25-30cm, long is a great addition to your vegetable garden. It produces sweet, tasty carrots over a long harvesting period which store very well over winter.

Swede - Marian - is a reliable, easy to grow and hardy cropper, which is purple topped with yellowy flesh and a great flavour and texture. It has good resistance to club root and mildew and crops over a long period of time meaning that you should be able to enjoy these roots from early autumn right through until the new year.

Parsnip - Tender and true - is a heritage parsnip variety that produces long white roots which grow very straight in deep stone free soil. The parsnip flesh has a lovely sweet flavour and it has good resistance to canker. It is popular for both exhibition and culinary use.
