Delphinium 'Pacific Giant Galahad' is a tall and early flowering variety of this popular cottage garden perennial.

The pure white double flowers with a dark centre bee on stems reaching 1.8m are perfect at the back of the border.

When to sow Sow indoors September to April.
Where to sow To improve chances of germination place seeds in a polythene bag and pop in the fridge at 4°C for 3 weeks prior to sowing.

Sow indoors thinly on the surface of compost filled pots or trays and cover the seeds with a very fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite.

Place in a warm position (15 to 18°C) and keep out of direct sunlight to exclude light until germination has occurred. Germination usually takes place within 14-21  days but can take longer.

What to do Next When seedlings are large enough to handle and all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise seedlings to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Then transplant into final growing position planting them 40cm (16in) apart.
Water well until plants are established.
As flower stalks grow taller they may need staking.
To encourage further blooms deadhead by cutting spent flower spikes back to small flowering side shoots.
