Nasturtium 'Jewel Mixed' comes in warm shades of red, orange and yellow and will grow almost anywhere. Nasturtiums can be used as edgings or at the front of a flower bed with other low-growing annuals and perennials. Allow plants to trail over walls or raised beds, and use them to add summertime colour to rock gardens. They also look beautiful in containers and window boxes.

Nasturtium is also one of the best companion plants for the vegetable garden deterring many pests, especially of the cucurbit family, and also attract many other predatory insects.

When to sow Outdoors March to June.
Where to sow Nasturtium seeds are best sown direct outside where they are to flower as the seedlings do not transplant well.
Before sowing Nasturtium seeds, soak the flower seeds overnight in warm water. 
Sow seeds 1cm (1/2in) deep in a well prepared bed 25cm (10in) apart or in a container/hanging basket. 
What to do next Water well until plants are established. 
Deadhead to prolong flowering and encourage new flower buds. Nasturtium will continue blooming until first frost.
Handy tips Do not fertilise, except on extremely poor soil, as fertilization will promote leaf growth and suppress flowering.

Companion planting Nasturtium is one of the best companion plants for the vegetable garden. They repel a great many cucurbit pests, like squash bugs, cucumber beetles, and several caterpillars.
